The NSF STEM K-12 program in the Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings in the Directorate for STEM Education supports fundamental, applied, and translational research that advances STEM teaching and learning and improves understanding of education across the human lifespan and a range of formal and informal settings.
This program aims to study approaches to preventing and addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. By studying the efficacy of strategies for serving victims and holding offenders accountable, the R&E Initiative helps communities assess their current programs and adopt proven strategies. The initiative is designed to support researcher-practitioner partnerships and a broad range of research and evaluation methods, including qualitative, mixed-method, quasi-experimental, and experimental designs.
Priority areas for research include: (1) Economic value of Information of the USGS streamgage network and associated National Water Information System and (2) Explore methods to develop new hydrologic models in large, regional areas or, where possible, at the national level to enhance understanding of water availability. While awards are available only to Water Resources Research Institutes established pursuant to the provisions of section 104 of the Water Resources Research Act, any investigator at an institution of higher learning in the United States is eligible to apply for an award through a Water Resources Research Institute.
The foundation invites applications for Alzheimer’s Disease research (ADR). Grants will be awarded to scientists pursuing pioneering research leading to greater understanding, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Grants of $300,000 over three years will be awarded to new and early investigators who have obtained their MD, PhD, or equivalent degree and/or completed formal medical training/residency within the past 12 years at the time of application.
Eligibility:
There are no eligibility requirements beyond early-career status.
The Foundation invites letters of inquiry for its Innovator Awards Program, which awards grants of up to $150,000 for individual research projects and up to $300,000 for collaborative projects in support of researchers worldwide to test ideas and work together to advance the understanding of IBD. Investigators who demonstrate significant progress in their first year of funding are eligible for up to two years of additional support.
LLS has issued an RFP for its Equity in Access Research Grants program, through which LLS aims to generate new evidence that can guide policy reform and changes in healthcare practice to mitigate the impact of social, economic, and environmental disadvantages and reduce barriers to care.
The Foundation invites applications for its Greenwall Faculty Scholars Program in Bioethics, which supports research that goes beyond current work in bioethics to resolve pressing ethical issues in clinical, biomedical, and public health decision making, policy, and practice as well as to create a community that enhances future bioethics research.
ACLS invites applications for its ACLS Fellowships program, which supports outstanding scholarship in the humanities and interpretive social sciences. The ultimate goal of the project should be a major piece of scholarly work by the applicant, which can take the form of a monograph, articles, publicly engaged humanities project, digital research project, critical edition, or other scholarly resources. The fellowships support projects at any stage of development—beginning, middle, or end.
The NYPL Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers is an international fellowship program open to people whose work will benefit directly from access to the collections at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building—including academics, independent scholars, and creative writers (novelists, playwrights, poets). Visual artists at work on a book project are also welcome to apply. Renowned for the comprehensiveness of its collections, the library is one of the world’s preeminent resources for study in anthropology, art, geography, history, languages and literature, philosophy, politics, popular culture, psychology, religion, sociology, sports, and urban studies.
